2025, Expanding Support With New Challenges
As we step into 2025, SimPal continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of vulnerable individuals and communities. Our mission remains the same: to provide free mobile phones and SIM cards to those in need, ensuring they stay connected to essential services, loved ones, and opportunities. 2024 however, brought both remarkable progress and significant challenges.
A Year of Growth: 30% Increase in Support
We are proud to share that in 2024, SimPal has increased its overall support by 30%. This growth reflects the dedication of our team, the generosity of our supporters, and the pressing need for our services. By providing mobile phones and free SIM cards, we’ve empowered thousands of individuals to access critical resources, from healthcare and housing to employment opportunities and social support networks.
This expansion has allowed us to reach more people than ever before, ensuring that fewer are left isolated or disconnected due to financial hardship. For many, a mobile phone is more than just a device—it’s a lifeline.
Tackling Poverty Across More Sectors
In addition to our core mission, 2024 saw SimPal broaden its focus to address poverty in new and meaningful ways. I would just like to thank everyone at simpal who awarded me with a mobile phone and a 6 months prepaid sim card when I really needed it most, I really appreciate all their help so very much as this has made it possible for me to stay connected and stay in touch with the medical professionals involved in my care and my treatment of my various health problems that I am being treated for at the moment, and due to their kind gift of a Mobile phone and a 6 months prepaid sim card I have been able to stay in touch with health professionals and dentists who are also involved in my 4 kids care, and since having the mobile phone and sim card, it has been such an important lifeline for us as a family as it has resulted in such a positive outcome for us as my kids have never missed a health appointment since, I am so overwhelmed by the kindness of all involved in so generously awarding me with not only a mobile phone and sim card, but by gifting me with the most valuable and really so very much appreciated opportunity of being able to stay connected to my really important support network of family and health professionals while I’m going through a new 5 year treatment for my really serious health problem at the moment, and also for my kids to be able to connect to the mobile hotspot and have the use of the internet to use to do their school work, and not to have to be embarrassed anymore by having to go into school and have to explain to the class teacher that you couldn’t complete your school work or homework because you didn’t have access to the internet because mum couldn’t afford to pay the internet bill this month because your little brother has outgrown his shoes and they are now too small for him and he only had 1 pair so mum had to make the decision not to pay the internet bill this month so that she was then able to buy your little brother a new pair of shoes. These are the sacrifices that people worldwide are having to make on a daily basis just to survive and to make sure that our kids needs are met.
Its actually quite sad that in 2025 people are just barely scraping by on the bare minimum, and also due to the cost of living crisis we are battling through at the moment, it means a lot of parents are having to make that important decision whether they can afford to either buy their kid proper fitting shoes as they have outgrown their hand me down pair from their sibling and in the process having to sacrifice their kids having access to the internet and for the next month the kids are unable to complete any homework tasks for school which includes having to connect to the internet to do research. I am so privileged for receiving the kind gift from simpal and I’m ever so grateful for the opportunity that this gift has given me by being able to stay connected to my support network and also being able to stay in touch on a regular basis with my friends and family. This is such an amazing charity that could help to change a lot of people’s lifes by just giving them that opportunity to stay connected to their support networks on a regular basis and it could also help numerous kids worldwide by just giving them the opportunity to have access to the internet at home to help them excel with their education just by being able to complete homework tasks where they need to connect to the internet to research. Thank you so very much all your help and support received has been really so very much appreciated.
