About Avril Chester
Avril is a trailblazer in the tech industry, currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Her leadership and vision have been recognised by Computer Weekly, where she has been listed among the most influential women in UK tech for five consecutive years. As the founder of Cancer Central, Avril led the creation of an award-winning technology charity that has supported over 10,000 individuals. Her innovative approach during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly through the Ask Ave chatbot, provided critical support to NHS Scotland, handling over a million inquiries. Avril continues to drive impactful change as a Founding Partner of the Cancer Awareness Trust, wherewhere Cancer Central’s insights and technology are being used to develop the Cancer Platform.
