Challenging Times For Fundraising
As a small charity, fundraising has always been challenging. Traditionally, national charities benefit from extensive marketing budgets that increase their visibility, leading to more donations. This reliable cycle worked for years—until COVID-19 dramatically changed our world.
Impact of COVID-19 on Charity Fundraising Challenges
The pandemic exposed significant gaps in charity services, prompting numerous grassroots organizations to emerge and support local communities. Foodbanks are a prime example of this rapid community response. Smaller, innovative, and agile charities adapted swiftly to changing demands, leaving larger charities struggling as traditional fundraising methods faltered.
Navigating Charity Fundraising Challenges in Difficult Times
Currently, charities face turbulent times, marked by decreasing donations and increasing demand for services. Many depend heavily on grants, which are becoming scarcer by the day. SimPal Charity, however, was strategically designed to diversify funding sources, understanding early on that reliance on single-source funding was unsustainable.
Although fundraising has never been my personal strength, the incredible support from the business community has been pivotal. Recognizing the uniqueness and value of our work, businesses have stepped up to support our mission. Now entering our ninth operational year, SimPal Charity’s reputation and corporate partnerships continue to grow significantly.
