Your application and means-testing

If a service or benefit which you wish to apply for is means-tested, this means that your eligibility to claim the relevant service or benefit shall depend on your income and how much capital you have.


We do not means-test, we are not interested in your financial situation, we are here to support you if you are living with cancer.


SimPal is a charity run by real people who are driven to support, love and respect those living with and beyond cancer.



Questions we get asked

+ How long do you offer support for?

Usually, simPal aims to support everybody for a minimum of 6 months.

+ Can I keep my number?

Yes. As long as you are out of contract or on ‘Pay As You Go’ then you will be able to move your number over to us free of charge.

+ Can you support my existing contract?

Unfortunately, simPal is not in a position to support with existing contracts.

+ Do I have to share any financial information?

No, we will never ask for any financial information.

+ What types of phones do you support people with?

We support people based on their needs. Commonly, we support low level devices such as Nokias and Doros. In some scenarios we may support people with smartphones such as Alcatels and Huaweis.

+ What do you do with my information?

Your simPal complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 to store information for internal use only, this means that we would never share your personal information without your consent.

+ Are there any hidden charges?

No, all services provided are pre-paid by simPal.

+ Are your services means-tested?

No, anybody living with cancer can apply to simPal at any given time.

+ I'm in remission, am I still eligible for support?

Yes, each application is unique and our application managers do their best to be as personable as possible.

+ Do you fix broken phones?

Unfortunately, simPal cannot assist with broken phones.
